Unless means if not and it usually has a negative meaning. Unless is often used in zero and first conditional sentences

1. Zero conditional
- Unless + present simple (condition clause) + present simple (result clause)
- In zero conditional sentences, the negative form can be expressed using cannot.

Ex: You can’t play WoW unless you buy the software.

2. First Conditional
(Unless + present simple) + (will/won’t + present simple)
